What Causes Diarrhea With Yellow And White Particles?

I am a 49 year old female in good health with normal BMI who used to eat anything and everything with daily morning bowel movements up until May 20. I've had diarrhea since May 20 which started with prayer, water fasting for 4 days, chills & an infectious type response. After 3 weeks, I went to the MD who Rxed Cipro 250 mg for 5 days with no effect. I then took Cipro 500 mg for 5 days. I got slightly better with soft stool but the diarhea returned. Then my MD Rxed Flagyl for 5 days. I got better on Flagyl but the diarrhea returned. Two stool cultures were negative. I've had a few brief respites with solid stool for 3-4 days after 3-4 days after healing prayer in Jesus' name but then the diarrhea returns. Now it's just like water. I don't get immediate diarrhea when eating plain Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. But, I get diarrhea with most other foods. It starts with a loud gurgling stomach about 10 minutes upon ingesting food. Then I get watery diarrhea 2-3 more times before it stops. This repeats every time I eat. Since last week, I have an episodic white, yellow or orange blobs in my diarrhea. The blob is about 1" long and 5/8" wide. I have not had blood in my stool or pain (I have an extremely high pain threshold). This weekend, I've had a slight pain near my pelvis & ovary on the left side. What's your diagnostic opinion? What course of action do you recommend that I take next?

Hello,

It's more than a week now and you have taken antibiotics and stool cultures are negative. I would recommend you to have stool test for ova and cyst and for Clostridium difficile toxin, stool leucocyte count, urea and electrolytes. Stop all medicines and take soft diet. No need of further antibiotics. Noticed any weight loss, joint pain, and rash. Within a week the most likely diagnosis go toward acute gastroenteritis for which you have been treated.

Now do the following tests if anything found positive it will be treated but if diarrhea persists then we will investigate for inflammatory bowel disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rehana Kousar
