What Causes Dizziness And Gastritis After A Appendectomy?
Gyn ?.....I m 3 weeks post appendectomy. Took Cipro and Doxycycline bid/2 wks. Developed h/a, dizziness, gastro upset immediately; incouraged to continue duration. On day 12 I developed sandpaper-like rash on back spreading to abdomin and bridge of nose. Allergist prescribed predisone and 1%Triamcinolone for body and .05% Alclometasone for face (topically). I do still have the rash and the gastric upset......question: Can I still go through with the hysterectomy;salping-oopherectomy c/bladder sling and retocele as long as I disclose my allergic reaction? My rash want cause a delay will it? What antibiotic would be best because of the bladder sling? Thanks for any advice or questions I may present would be appreciated.....surgery in 9 days...f/u with allergist in 4 days.

You are having problem with Doxycycline. You should avoid sunlight and wait for the period till this problem subsides. Generally it will take only 5-7 days and afterward you will be OK. However you should keep a gap of 3-4 weeks for another surgery for tour body to recover and be ready for another major surgery.
