What Causes Extreme Fatigue Along With Abdominal Pain?

My husband has been very sick for 9 days. He is 46 years old, had a heart attack in August 2014 (complete blockage of 1 artery, had a stent put in) and during his hospital stay they found that he has hypothyroidism. His main complaint is extreme fatigue. He has had some intermitent abdominal pain as well. We went to ER on Sunday, they did some routine blood work (all normal, including his thyroid) and an EKG (normal). We followed up with our PCP yesterday and he thinks it is a virus. I think there is something else going on. My husband is never sick and when he is it has never been for this long. We are going back to PCP tomorrow, as I requested they do more lab work (to include testing for mono).

It will be more helpful if you mention the exact location of the abdominal pain. After reading your post, it seems that he might be having pain due to gastritis. An Endoscopy will help in confirmation of the diagnosis. He may take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals for relief. He should avoid spicy and oily foods. If the symptoms persists, get him clinically examined and investigated by his doctor.
