What Causes Fever In An Infant After Exposure To Sun?

My son is 20 months old - he was out in the sun yesterday for a few hours in the evening and now he has a fever - average 101.5 with ibuprofen - and his skin is hot to the touch. I thought it might be sunburn, but we used sunscreen and his skin isn't red.

Thanks for the query.
The following symptoms are typical when experiencing a sunstroke: Hot and dry skin, rapid heartbeat and pulse, sweating stops, rapid breathing, increase in body temperature, muscle cramps, headaches, nausea, confusion and dizziness.
Skin rash may not develop in sun stroke.
You should do vigourous cold sponging till tempreture falls below 100 f.
Keep him hydrated and see a doctor.
Hope i helped you.
