What Causes Hard Bumps In The Fingers?

I have these red hard bumps under the skin of my fingers and top of my hands. My ra doctor told me I have osteo arthritis. I recently had treatment for my cancer and these bumps went away. But after a few months they are returning. They do not itch but if I should hit my hand the wrong way, they hurt. Can you tell me what these might be? thank you. Michele

these are subcutaneous nodules and it can be due to collection of fat. If they are not causing any symptoms then they can be ignored. otherwise I would recommend you to get a needle test to confirm the diagnosis.
