What Causes Lethargy, Frustration And Annoyance In A Child?

hi i am becoming worried about my two and half year old, for the past week he has become very lethargic and does not want to play , he seems well apart from this, but all he wants to do is hug and lie down, he has a good diet and is normally very active, his mood is very different as well and seems very frustrated and annoyed, should i be worried?

Hello,

There is a change in your child's behaviour. Is it associated with other symptoms like fever, stomach ache, vomiting etc. Also is he pale or anaemic? If this is not the case you should try and find out what is bothering him? Has he recently joined a playgroup or daycare? Who is taking care of him in your absence? Please talk to him and the teachers/ day care providers/ caretakers. You can even try changing his playgroup or daycare centre. Make sure nobody is abusing him.

If you are sure it is not due to any of these reasons, then don't worry it is probably just a transient phase.

Hope that helps.

Wishing you good luck.

Regards,

Preeti
