Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have mucus in my stools which sometimes contains tiny red dots. Also lately I have been going to the toilet more often than usual with sort of diarrhea. I dont pass as much stools as normal either. Any idea what it could be? I have no stomach pains and I feel ok.
Mucous with blood in a stool sample may be due to dysentery or diarrhea or inflammatory bowel problems etcetera. Take soft diet, use probiotics, and tablet Oflox Ornidazole twice a day for five days (don't take if you are allergic). If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
