What Causes Numbness In The Finger After An Injury?

A child bit my ring finger just below the cuticle. It bled and was swollen/weeping fluid for about 30 hours. The swelling has gone away and the damage looks minimal but the entire area.. symmetrically, from the cuticle up is numb. Numbness has been unchanged for 3.5 days. I am surprised that my finger is still numb as the damage is so minimal and the actual laceration does not hurt. The child may have bruised the bone, that is what hurts but the numbness is significant. It impacts my ability to play piano.

HI
Well come to HCM
I appreciate your concern, if it is the peripheral nerve injury then it may cause the numbness but as you stated here that it is not the deep cut so it may not be the nerve injury, due to the laceration the area might be numb, let the wound healed and sealed then it will be alright, meanwhile care need to be taken for infection.
If the numbness persist then it would be matter of concern but it may not be the bite by child.
hope this information helps.
