What Causes Pain And Swelling In Knuckles?

Hi. I was hitting softballs with friends for the first time. I am experiencing pain in my knuckle of my index finger near my palm. Minor swelling, slight bruising, hurts to touch and also extending and clenching hand. I am over 40. Injury happened about 7 hrs ago. Just bruised or need to worry about fracture.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a contusion only. Fracture is unlikely. As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like Aceclofenac/Seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief. As of now you can apply ice packs for faster recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
