What Causes Pressure Feeling On The Uterus With Stomach Cramps?

Hello, I am 30yrs old, 5'3, 230lbs. Med hx includes SLE, right sided CHF, PCOS. My husband and I are trying to conceive, have been for 1 yr. LMP was 8-23-11 after taking Provera 10mg po daily for 10 days. Started Clomid 100mg on day 3 and took for 7 days. I felt rt sided ovarian pain on 9-6-11, which is around the time that I should have ovulated. for 2 days now I have had pressure feelings in my uterus and mild cramping, and have mild swelling noted to the rt outer labia. I haven't felt pressure like this after ovulation before, could these symptoms be related to post ovulation or possible conception?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood your concern. Since you are taking Clomiphene for induction of ovulation, it is mandatory to follow up the course with sonograms to detect ovulation and also to monitor a possible ovarian hyperstimulation. Cramping around the time of ovulation can happen due to the propulsion of the ovum toward the uterine cornua. Also, when conception occurs, this propulsion can cause mild cramping due to contraction of the fallopian tubes. The swelling over the labia is mostly unrelated to this process and could be related to the SLE. Please contact your consultant to plan further management. Hope this helps.
