What Causes Rash After Fever In Children?

My child had a fever a couple of days ago and now he has a rash. However I did sanitize our clothes in Clorox which we never use because my child is prone to eczema breakouts. He has had trouble sleeping with tossing and turning , which may be associated with his rash. The rash doesn't cover his whole body but he is broke out around his mouth.

Hello. Thank you for your question. The scenario you describe is very common. There are many viruses that start with fever, then end with a rash after, or while, the fever resolves. The most commonly know type is Roseola, though there are many others as well. The rash may spread before it resolves. Ultimately it goes away without treatment is is nothing to worry about. The use of clorox may also be a cause here, though it seems less likely. Even so, this would be self resolving as well.
