What Causes Rectal Bleeding And Clotting With Lightheadedness?

Is this a free service? If so, pleaseanswer the following question...I had blood in my stool about 20 minutes ago. There a a tiny clot and probably about a couple teaspoons of blood in addition to that. Afterwards and still to this moment I feel a bit light-headed. It's Thanksgiving....how should I proceed? Thank You, Leah Kowalke

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all, you will have to look for constipation. If constipation is the there then it could be the only cause of bleeding.

If not, then it could be infection of rectum (Inflammatory condition). Because of the constipation, it may cause the fissure and hemorrhoid and both these condition can only be confirmed by clinical condition.

Moreover, it can be due to diet and it needs to be ruled out too. Third, it could be nonspecific just because of diet only, whatever the reason are there, all need to be differentiated and for that you have to see the doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
