What Causes Red Spots On Back Of Throat,tonsils & Roof Of Mouth?

I have red spots on the back of my throat, on my tonsils, and on the roof of my mouth. I have taken a strep test at the doctor's and it came out negative. They said I had fist disease, but I looked it up and it says nothing about red spots in the throat. I don't have the rash on my cheeks ether. It is painful and has been going on for 3 and a half days. I throw up everything I eat and drink. What do i have/

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red spots on back of throat,tonsils and roof of mouth. Well there can be many reasons for these spots on the back of throat,tonsils and roof of mouth like oral thrush, tonsil stones, oral herpes and tonsillitis. It could be due to inadequate hygiene of oral cavity and poor immunity of body as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out causes mentioned above. Avoid intake of oily and spicy food ad cold carbonated beverages. Usually treatment is not necessary, as the tonsils will clean themselves just do warm saline gargles and suck on lemon candy . If they are causing any discomfort then doctor may remove them with instrument . If condition doesn't get better then consult oral pathologist .
