Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has severe rectal pain. He has had a CT scan, which showed normal. Does a CT scan show everything? This pain is worse after bowel movement and has been going on for a few weeks now. Hemmoroids are apparently not the problem as the Dr. could not find any. What could be causing this problem? He looks tired, and lost color in his face. The pain was extreme when Dr. gave rectal exam. Any suggestions?
Hi and thanks for the query, The most important thing to do is not getting a CT scan. It i s imperative to get a proper clinical review first. The most indicated specialist to be sure is a proctologist or a grastroenterologist. Special examinations called rectsocopy, sigmoidoscopy coupled with an expert clinical review would be most helpful. Kind regards
