What Causes Severe Stomach Pain And Watery Stools?

my husband has had severe stomach pain and diarrhea for 2 days it started after he ate way too much it is not going away is there anything that could be seriously wrong or is it just related to the fact that he ate 9 dinner rolls and a full meal? also he constantly feels the need to use the restroom but often can't go and when he does its watery stool
