What Causes Skin Rash Or Fungus Around Nose Area And Is Spreading?

My 15 year old daughter has a skin rash or fungus around her nose area on one side and is spreading. It is red, bumpy and very dry. It itches right after she uses a hydracortizone cream and or coconut oil. Neither one of these area helping and need help on what to do next as shes very insecure in its appearance.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for skin rash or fungus around nose area and is spreading.

After reading your query it appears to be due to fungal infection. Fungal infection of the skin is quite common due to infection and hygiene. It is aggravated by hot weather and the further spread of infection to nearby of other parts.

To prevent the further spread maintain good hygiene by taking two times bath, wearing cotton clothes and change of clothes two times. Stay away from hot and humid climate. You can use clotrimazole cream or terbinafine cream over the affected areas under medical supervision. I suggest you to take antifungal tablet by mouth such as fluconazole 150 mg alternate days for 15 days.
