What Causes Skin Tenderness Under The Breast Without Lumps?

I have skin tenderness under left breast. No lumps detected and no sign of rash. Though it might be shingles, but no rash evident. The tenderness has developed after a few days to extend around the bra line to my back. All on the same line as the bra. Have tried changing undergarment to no avail.

Hello,

Shingles can present without rash and it is too early to state there are no shingles. However, a tight strap of bra or undue pulling for some time can be the simple but avoidable cause for pain and tenderness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar, Psychiatrist
