What Causes Sore Throat, Swollen Tonsils, Stomach Area Rash, Drying Groin Skin?

I had a sore throat / swollen tonsils for a few days, and after I got this 'U' shaped rash from the bottom of my stomach, up to my armpits. Just red patches, some dry skin scaling over. I also noticed dry, kind of skin patches on my groin area as well. What could this be?? I did change both my laundry soap n body wash recently as well, could this be the cause? 19, male, 145 pounds.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Viral infections can be associated with the presence of a rash though there are other possible causes as well.

If the rash is related to your recent infection it would resolve with or soon after the infection improves.

If it remains, then it is possible that it is related to your change in soap and/or detergent.
You would have to alter one at a time to determine which one.

I hope this helps
