What Causes Soreness Where Mesh Is Put After Hearnia Operation?

I had a hernia by my belly button 4 years ago. Repaired by mesh. Since then I lost 80 pounds. Kept it off for 18 months. Now gained 60. And started losing again. Anyway it's very sore by where the mesh was put in. Is there anything to be concerned about

Hello,

Loss of weight may not be due to the hernia operation but it could be due to something else like infection, endocrine dysfunction and some systemic disease. If the site of the mesh is paining then it is better to rule out the infection and for that you will have to see the surgeon who did the operation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
