What Causes Stiffness And Swelling In The Hands During Pregnancy?

I am 39 years old, female and am 5'-5", 135 pounds and normally healthy with no autoimmune issues. When I was 8 mos pregnant, one morning I woke up and my hands were stiff and my PIP knuckles swollen. This happens everyday. The tops of my feet also ache. These symptoms mainly happen after sleeping or resting for a period. I am now 8 mos. postpartum and they remain unchanged. I have been to a rheumatologist and he ran many tests to which nothing is coming up positive. I do have a slightly positive ANA of 1:40 but the RH factor is negative and my Sed rate is very low at 3. I have also been tested for Lyme, Parvovirus, Chrohns and Sorgrens. All negative. Can you help?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion as all the reports are normal you need not worry.I suggest you to check for Hb level and take high protein diet.Because anaemia along with or without hypoproteinaemia might also cause similar picture.Dont worry. They might subside spontaneously after delivery.
Best regards...Dr srilatha
