What Causes Stiffness In The Neck?

Hi. I have had a stiff neck for about 5 months. I can turn it any way without pain. and looking up hurts so bad. can a chiropractor help fix this problem? or would a massage therapist be better? I know i have 3 herniated disks in my neck, because I had an MRI done, because I get severe migraines.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
As per your explanation I suggest do check once with ortho doctor also. And then visit a physical therapist but don't go to a local massage therapy because it can hurt your neck. Ortho will suggest you on surgical as well conservative plan based on your mri and physio will guide you for treatment like ultrasound to relax soft tissue and tens for pain relief if it is there as well based on your report you can also go for cervical traction and exercise program. Also can use hot pack on your painful area. I am a physio and if you need any suggestions do mail me on nirajmodish@gmail.com.
Hope this was helpful to you. Take care.
