What Causes Swelling In My Foot Even After Taking Diclofenac And Steroids For Gout?

I HAVE GOUT IN MY RIGHT FOOT. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DOCTOR 3 TIMES AND GIVEN ME STERIODS AND LAST TIME HE GAVE ME DICLOFENAC. I FINISH THE DRUG AND NOW MY FOOT IS HURTING AND SWELLING AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 2 MONTHS. I AM READY FOR THIS TO BE OVER. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP THIS OR SHOULD I CHANGE DOCTORS? HE DOESN T SEEM TO GIVE ME THE RIGHT DRUG. THANKS

Thanks for your query.
In acute stage of gout NSAids and cholchine is helpful. if it become chronic. uric acid lowering drug like allopurinol is advised. There is no harm in taking second opinion. Avoid taking diet rich in uric acid. Drink plenty of water.
