What Causes Tiny Black Spots In My Stool?

I have been having problems with my gallbladder. I have had an ultrasound done and a HIDA scan and both came back fine. I still hurt everytime I eat and some foods make me very sick. I have an appointment with the GI specialist this week and I have noticed I have tiny black spots in my stool. What would cause this?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Since HIDA scan and ultrasound are normal this is definitely related to the gall bladder problem and you have pains all over abdomen on taking food and seems to be aggravated with certain foods; also noted the presence of tiny spots in the stool.
I would advise you the following:
Get the stool tested for three consecutive days, particularly occult blood and stool all the foods that cause the enhancement of your symptoms.
If the stool tests show any infection get treated with an antibiotic and metronidazole.
Take a PPI like Pantoprazole.
You have to make a note of all the foods, beverages, spices, any mixtures that enhance or instigate the problems and stop altogether.
I am sure this would help you the most.
Anyways an additional information, examination and tests will be suggested by the Gastroenterologist and will help you.
I find this answer helpful
