What Causes Tiredness, Heaviness And Drowsiness After Taking Cortisone Shot?

About 15 years ago I had a cortisone shot in my elbow for some pain I was having. After getting the injection I stopped to eat lunch. Halfway through eating I became very tired so I drove back home as quickly as possible. My young son had to help me drive onto the property where we lived. When I got in the house and climbed in bed, I remember not even being able to hold the phone. It seemed very heavy. The next thing I remembered was waking up the next day. Could I have gone into shock because of an allergic reaction? If so should I ever try cortisone again?

Hello,
This does not should like shock or like an anaphylactic reaction, however, it is a severe reaction. You need to talk to your doctor about this but if you were my patient I would never give you steroids again unless absolutely necessary.
Regards
