What Could Be The Lump Seems Like A Soft Tissue On The Side Of The Face After I Was Punched?

Hi, 7days ago I was punched in the side of my face, now I have a hard lump in the soft tissue... I guess wondering if this is normal? I've been into hospital when it happened and a few days later to be accessed for any fractures and concussion. The swelling went down a lot in the first three or four days and now I have this hard lump that is a little tender to touch.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
What you have , could be a bruise.
This is a small haemorrhage inside the skin and muscles due to injury.
Normally, it is soft.
However, when the blood clots inside, it can harden.
ALso, it is quite tender to touch.
It typically changes colours.
Initially it would be a vivid purple or indigo, changing from yellowish to greenish, reddish and finally fade away in parts.
Apply an ice pack.
It would provide relief.
If it does not disappear in 3 - 5 days, visit the hospital again
Take care.
