What Could Be The Problem With The Throat Having Husky Voice And The Normal Voice Has Not Come Back?
Hi Dr. I am having a problem with my voice for almost 4 months from now. I had a husky voice and drink up colds and my voice never came back as it used to be. And then just this week I checked my tonsils and I've seen that there are steam on my toncils. Does that affects my voice? I cant sing very well because of this. It does not hurt but I am worrying what is this up to. Please response. Thankk you!
Hi and thanks for the query, There are many reasons for change of voice - chronic infection of voice box, nodules on cords, tumours in the voice box etc. You will require direct or indirect laryngoscopy to visualise your larynx to come to a diagnosis. Please see an ENT for the same. Meanwhile follow these measures. 1) Steam inhalation 3 times daily. 2) Voice rest. Do not scream or whisper. 3) Drink plenty of fluids. Your tonsils will not affect your voice. Regards, Dr Kishori.
