What Could Be The Reason For Burning Sensation In Upper Back And Shoulders After Falling From A Height?

I had a fall from about 3 to 4 feet in the air. My upper back (shoulder blade area) hit a laundry basket and my arm hit a metal can. I now have a burning sensation through both of these area's. What exactly causes this, and is it ok to wait a day or 2 to see a doctor.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

You seem to have been injured your muscle and bone of the upper back area . Get it evaluated by an orthopedician .

I would suggest you to get an Xray done. One can never be too careful.

Give complete rest to the injured area and aviod doing any sort of strenuous activity .
Take a good anti inflammatory like diclofenac
Apply ice packs to the area .
Local diclofenac gel massage.

I think you should get sufficient relief from all of this.

I hope my advice has helped.

Good luck
