What Could Be The Reason For Experiencing Numbness Of My Thumb And Index Finger And Pain Between Scapula And Spine?
I am experiencing numbness of my thumb and index finger (left hand), and a feeling of an electrical storm in my left arm, for the past 8 days, or so. A pronounced pain in the area between the scapula and spine (C7 to T3 region). I am male, 57 years of age, fairly fit (gym 3 to 5 days per week). Is spend considerable hours at my desk in front of computer.
Hi there. You seem t be suffering from cervical spondylitis meaning degeneration of the neck bones along with radiculopathy....meaning pressure on the nerves coming out of the spinal cord which supply the hands. Yes...sitting for long hours in front of computer is the most common cause of this problem. Get an Xray done and get it evaluated. Cut down on the computer hours. Start Cervical isometric exercises which you can learn from a physiotherapist. Start tablet nucoxia- MR, tab pregalin , and methycobalamine injections in doses prescribed by your orthopedician. Warm compresses and diclofenac gel massage on the nesk will help. Good luck.
