What Could Cause Black And Purple Bruise On Upper Arm?

Hi there, About 5 weeks ago I got a huge knarly black and purple bruise on my upper arm. It took about two weeks to fade when another one (equally as large, painful and colorful) appeared. I didn t think much of it until I started being asked if someone grabbed me so I began being more cognitive of it s placement and it s healing. It started fading when it appeared again last week, more painful and his time with visable broken-spider-like-veins with the bruise surrounding it. I m a tad concerned. Any thoughts?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It might be due to trivial trauma, The cause for discolouration is slight exrrasation if blood. You can apply ice packs for faster recovery. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
