Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Green stools are definitely indicative of an intestinal infection unless proved otherwise. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:

- Get the stool tests done as it will help you to get the proper diagnosis and if there is infection, a course of an antibiotic will help to resolve the problem.

- Since you are already taking steroid shots for backache you may get further consultation and MRI to find the cause to get an appropriate treatment.

- These steroid shots may not be associated with the present problem of green stools.

- Colitis is known to increase the back ache.

- Continue the treatment of intestinal infection till cured.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Many causes are there for green stools, such as food additives or eating green leafy vegetables, etcetera.

Other possibilities like gallbladder liver problems, infection like E coli or entamoeba, Irritable Bowel syndrome or malabsorption.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeine. Take probiotics twice a day for five days.

If you have any symptoms associated with it then consult your doctor who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
