What Could Have Led To The Increase In Protein Level In Urine After Childbirth?

hi. I wonder about my condition now. I just born baby on september 16 then when I got my 6 weeks check up, my OB found that my protein level in urine was 7.5. and she asked me to make a test. is it normal? what should I do? look for internist doctor? thank you.

Hi,
You obviously have elevated protein levels and these should be correlated with your ante-natal values. If you have had elevated levels during the pregnancy also, they may take some time to come down to normal; regular monitoring of vital data along with renal function should be sufficient. Else, you should see a nephrologist for further evaluation and management of the proteinuria. Please take the advice of a physician also for appropriate general management.
