Hi, I had radio active iodine to correct my hyperthyroidism, and i am now hypo. My test results 8 weeks after my rai was tsh 47, and I was put on Levothyroxine 50mg a day. After 8 weeks I had a blood test which showed that my tsh had gone up to 97!!! But I didn t really feel bad. My dose of Levothyroxine was increased to 150mgms, and after 3 weka I have started to get palpitations and generally feel unwell. I asked my doctor if my t3 and t4 was tested and she said that they were no relevant. Any suggestions?
Dear ma'm, Hi! that is very true in the face of high TSH , T3 & T4 have little value. but your problem of palpitation is due to high dose of levothyroxine. from 50 mcg you should have made it 100 mcg and not 150 mcg. regards!
