I have had several surgeries due to fibroids. Now scheduled for hystercomy. This problem has plagued me since I been 11 about 25 years. Are they actually helping girls now. I was always told its in your head, it does cause that much pain, nobody bleed this much. I just do not want this for any other girl. This condition has cost me jobs, friendships and love. Sometimes I feel these condition destroy my life, please help girls before it becomes that awful. I have finally come to terms with this illness and hope others see it as a real illness not fake. Not really sure if there is question in there, just hoping new insights are made. Sincerely, Tina
It seems that you have gone through a lot due to the fibroids. Here in India we have a more liberal approach for hysterectomy as if the fibroids are big then other modalities mostly fail. We tend to perform just one surgery that is a myomectomy. If this fails then the next step is a hysterectomy.
But I will keep this in mind next time I have a patient with fibroid. Thanks for the feedback, it helps us in our practice.
Take care and all the best for your surgery.
