i undergo a ultrasound and the result is, the UTERUS is anteverted, midline with heterogeneous echopattern and irregular contour. it measures 5.4x5.3x.5.7cm (corpus only) there are 3 small hypoechoic well circumscribed masses M1, M2 and M3 - are antero-fundal intramural masses measuring 1.2 x0.9cm, 0.6 cm and 0.8cm respectively. what is this?
Anteverted uterus refers to a normal uterus position in the pelvis. There are at least 3 rounded areas in the uterus which show characteristics like that of fibroids in the uterus wall. These are small and measure 12 x 9 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm as mentioned by you. By size they are very small but can cause menstrual disturbances and pain during periods. At the present size you may consult your gynecologist and take medications to reduce them. Another ultrasound may be done after 6 months to look for any reduction in size.
