What Does Atrophic Uterus With Parenchymal Calcifications In Report Suggest?

Exam : TRANSVAGINAL UTZ Multiple transverse and longitudinal scan of the pelvic region was obtained endovaginally Uterus is small in size anteverted measuring 2.79 x 3.26 x 2.2 cm with homogenous parenchyma. Calcifications are noted within .
Endometrium is not thickened, 0.48 cm with fluid within.
Cervix measures 1.62 x 2.24 x 2.25 cm
Ovaries are not seen.
No free fluid noted in the posterior cul de sac
IMPRESSION:
ATROPHIC UTERUS WITH PARENCHYMAL CALCIFICATIONS
ATROPHIC OVARIES

1.Atrophic uterus is seen in case of post menopausal women and also seen in case of congenital anomalies.
2.Atrophic uterus wit calcifications are seen in case of elderly age with associated atrophic ovaries.
3.Atrophy means - the normal hydration level is reduced.
4.Cacifications are seen in case of calcified fibroid, myometrial calcifications in adenomyosis.
5.Fluid collection is seen in presence of outlet obstruction due to any mass.
