What Does 'opacity Projected Over The Pelvis' Mean?

I have just had an xray which shows an 'opacity projected over the pelvis, ?calcified fibroids.' my question arises because I had a total hysterectomy and oopheractomy some 30 years ago which in my mind makes it highly unlikely that it is a fibroid.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

You have rightly pointed out that after having hysterectomy 30 years back, its unlikely or near impossible for you to have fibroids. Please discuss your X ray regarding a suspicious white shadow in the pelvic cavity, which can be anything else like a urinary bladder calculus to some artifact. At the same time your symptoms need attention.
