What Does "T3-1.08,T4-7.80 And TSH-8.39" In Thyroid Profile Suggest?
My blood test report is as under: T3, total = 1.08 ng/mL T4, total= 7.80 ug/dL TSH= 8.39 uIU/mL ANTI THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODY; ANTI TPO > 1300 u/Ml
This is first time when I get tested for Thyorid. I have no problem. My weight is normal. Normal diet. No specific symptoms. But I have the history of allergies- asthma and sneezing for the last 25 years. Am I need to start medication for thyroid?
Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Your T3, T4 is normal and TSH is elevated - suggesting mild decreased functioning of your thyroid. This is due to high anti thyroid antibodies in your blood (Anti TPO).
If I were your treating physician I would have started you on thyroid hormone replacement. Dont worry this treatment is free of side effects and your thyroid function test will be normalised in a months time. I suggest you to see a physician and be in regular follow up.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
