my 6 month old daughter started to get extremely red around her vagina and her butt yesterday out of the blue, she was also swollen in the area, when cleaning she is sore and cries in pain which is not normal for her, she has never had a diaper rash before and I am not sure that this is

The reason for her symptoms seems to be a diaper rash or yeast infection. You may use Siloderm or Rashfree ointment for relief. Also, air dry the area in between each nappy change.
