What Is The Bruise On My Spine?

I have a small, unexplainable bruise on my spine, right wear my bra would be, I have had it for 2 months and pain only on one spine bone (were the bruising is). The pain has recently gotten worse. It hurts just to sit back in a chair or in the car. I have had absolutly no injury or trauma.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to a chronic infection.

A tumor can not be excluded either.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending doctor for a careful physical check up and some tests:

- a spine CT scan to exclude a possible tumor
- complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate for inflammation

Other tests may be needed if suspicions of a tumor are raised. Biopsy would be necessary in such case.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
