What Is The Cause For Constant Pain In The Upper Chest?

Yesterday I started getting Sharp pains in the right side of my chest. I assumed anxiety and treated according with xanax and sleep. Today the my chest hurts on both sides when I move or stretch. Deep breaths and sneezing hurt as well... Not so much a Sharp pain now a constant pain in my upper chest only. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. You were talking about anxiety and took medicines for it. In that case, you must have undergone tests in regard to your heart and its proper functioning. I hope your heart and lungs are in good condition and you knew it. Anxiety is usually fight or flight syndrome. In that course, stomach produces more acid and body muscles are stretched so as to make it ready for any eventuality. Stretched muscles may be sore for over two or three days. In your case, the chest muscles were stretched and you are feeling the pain next day. If you have never visited any doctor to assess your heart condition, please do it now, and then you can have a sigh of relief and peace of mind for next two years.

Good luck. Take care.
