What Is The Cause For Fluid Oozing From Superficial Scratches Of 79 Year Old?
My 79 year old aunt with multiple serious chronic health issues(rheumatoid arthritis, pulmonary hypertension, atrial fibrillation) had some very small amount of clear fluid oozing from a few small superficial scratches on her arm yesterday when I visited. Could this be a problem?
Yes definitly this not the physiological thing which you are pointing at but as you narreted earlier that your 79 yr old having multiple chronic problems this symptom can be neglected as it indicates the fluid overload in the body.
As the said patient is having the pulmonary hypertension as well as atrial fibrilition chance of her having the congestive cardica faolure & thereby fluid overload are obvious. Thsi mightbe the reason of the fluid oozing from the said scratches. Now you shold take care taht it wont get infected which might be the alarming situation & which might need hopitalisation.
The signs of the infection are fever , change of the colour & consistancy of the oozing fluid, fowl smell to the fluid.
Now to reduce the clear discharge you can do is have a consultaion with the physician who might put them on the appropriate diuretics whcih might resolve the problem.
