What Is The Cause Of Runny Nose And Cough When On Medication?

my wife went to bed one night feeling fine the next day she got up had a runny nose a small cough but her oice was hourse. acouple days after that she went to the dr and they treated her for pnamonia/bronchitis and said that her vocal cords were swollen thats why she talked hourse. they gave her arithrumiasun a z pac sterroid pills and a nebulizer with 2 different kinds of meds to put in it.. she went back to the dr they gave her more meds and said it would take time. sunday i had her in the ER and they did another chest x ray and said her lungs were clear. this is going on 41/2 weeks she went to dr today and they said there is nothing more they can do but send her to a pulmanary dr what do you think is wrong
i didnt think this was going to cost anything

Not possible to comment on diagnosis Antibiotic analgesic cough expectorant woud have been sufficient.Don't see the and seeneed of steroid.Repeat x-ray and see the progress.
