I hAVE A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WHO HAS HAD A TERRIBLE COUGH FOR SOMETIME NOW. THE DOCTORS SAY IT MIGHT BE ALLERGIES. SHE ALSO GOT A FEVER OF 103 ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND WAS GIVEN CHILDRENS ADVIL. THE FEVER WENT AWAY, BUT THE TERRIBLE COUGH IS STILL THERE

Hi, thank you for posting.

I think that your granddaughter is affected by a seasonal flu. The virus has affected trachea(windpipe), and has caused cough.
To diagnose, she needs:
1- Complete blood count.
2- Pulmonary X-ray.
3- Urine test.

You should take her to a pediatric pneumologist.
