What Is The Difference Between Premarin And Estradiol?
I had a full hysterectomy a year ago and started on premarin, unfortunately my insurance wouldn t cover it so my doctor put me on estradiol. I am just wondering what the differences are? I have put on a lot of weight since hysterectomy and can t seem to lose weight. Does it have to do with medication? As well as my breasts are very sensitive? And would either of these drugs help with depression?

Premarin, on the other hand, is the brand name of conjugated estrogen. Conjugated estrogen is also a medical formulation. It’s a mixture of several types of estrogens.
Premarin, like estradiol, is used to provide comfort to patients with serious forms of breast cancer or prostate cancer. It’s also used to treat the same symptoms of menopause that estradiol does.
Further, it’s also sometimes prescribed for abnormal uterine bleeding.
