What Is The Dosage Of Losartan 100 Mg?

Hello Dr. Grief. I just started on Losartan 100 mg. and am concerned the dosage may be too high. Is it okay to split the pill in half until I can talk to my Dr. Monday morning? In his office yesterday, my bp was 176/ 102. This morning my BP was 138/86 / 12 hrs. after the first dosage. This afternoon it was 127/78 after20 hrs. Am concerned it s dropping too quickly. I haven t been on any meds, but fractured my shoulder Easter Sunday & the pain was stressful. Thanks for your help. Sincerely Kathleen Moore

As per your history is concerned for LOSARTAN dosage for hypertension is like this:
initial-50 mg once a day ,maintenance dosage is 25-100mg once or two times depends upon BP check up
patients on diuretics or those with volume depletion:the usual initial dose is 25 mg once a day ,so you start from 50 mg once a day,if BP increases add 25 extra.So if BP decreases reduce it.Keep a pressure instrument on hand at home.(Thanks)
