What Is The Effect Of Ensure Oral Liquid?

Hi, I am a nursing student doing research for a med list for class. I need to list classification, adverse effects, patient teaching and nursing implications for Ensure Oral Liquid (can). As this is not a medication but rather a dietary supplement it is of course not listed in my Nurse s drug guide. I have Googled the product but can t seem to pinpoint the information I am looking for....do you have any suggestions?

Ok... first, get an ingredient list and go by that.
Second, the ingredients in ensure are foods. They generally aren't going to have adverse events by themselves. It's going to be their interactions with disease states.
So... if someone has malabsorption or intolerance to one of the food items.
I'm not sure if ensure is ok with diabetes
It isn't the best if you want to restrict protein (bad kidneys, liver encephalopathy)
It's not that bad if you have fluid restrictions, but there is some fluid. Hope this is helpful
