What Is The Pain In My Chest?

I ve had this pain in the center of my chest since earlier today. The more I inhale, the more it hurts. It s exact location is the behind lower center part of my breastplate. I ve never had this problem before and am only 17 years old. Do you know what it might be and/or if there is anything I can do about it?

Hi, thank you for posting!

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Your symptoms are caused by a cold, that is caused by a seasonal virus.
Painkillers and bed rest are necessary in these cases. You should also take a lot of liquids.

If your symptoms continue for more than 3 days, you need to get the following tests in order to check virus complications:
1. Physical examination by your GP.
2. Pulmonary X-ray.
3. Complete blood count.
4. Urine test.

Contact your pulmonologist.

I hope this answers is helpful to you.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
