Hello, enlarged adenoids may be a response to infection for example, or related to allergic diseases. In addition, polyps in the nose may bleed but would be expected to be detected by the CT scan. If the bleeding has intensified, he should be checked for clotting problems, blood disorders, liver disease and Cystic Fibrosis by your doctor. In addition, if he has allergic disease, gentle application of nasal saline and keeping the air moist in the house by not overheating the house may provide some relief. In allergic patients, the use of nasal steroids also may provide benefit.
