1. Since CD4 count is low, thus he is also prone to Opportunistic Infection [frequent diarrhea, recurrent cold: fever/cough] thus treatment should be started without delay with ART [anti retro viral] Therapy along with Symptomatic Treatment.

PS. There is/are great deal of Drugs in different sub groups which your attending Doctor will describe you once Treatment is initiated, also Anemia and neutropenia are established side effects of majority.

2. Among HIV-1 infected individuals, herpes simplex virus [HSV] infections are common. thus look out for any anogenital ulcers [mainly]

3. In Ayurveda we study the disease under 'Oja Kshaya' progressing to 'Dhatu kshaya', thus therapy is given: to pacify vata dosha and nourishment of Shukra, Oja and all other Dhatus.

PS. the Diet and Drugs should be aimed at nourishment of shukra and other dhatus, to increase the Immune Power and resistance of the body and to gain body weight. when the Dosha, Dhatus become Normal, the general condition of the patient Improves. You may consult an Ayurveda Physician for possible management.
