What Is The Safest And Least Invasive Method For Preventing Horrible Periods?

I am 46 years old, in pretty good physical shape ( I still get carded) and my mother didn't go through menopause until after her mid fifties. About 6 months ago, my periods got more regular than ever before, but they also got so heavy that I feel like 25% of my life is ruined by it. I don't want to go through it ever again. I never had kids and never will, and as I see it, there is no reason for me to be suffering these horrible periods. I have read what constitutes a period that would qualify for intervention. What is the safest, least invasive method with the least side effects for me stop stop the severity and preferably the occurrence of these periods?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. If you were my patient I would have advised you ultrasound abdomen and also routine blood checkup like hb levels, sugar levels. Ultrasound for endometrial thickness and fibroid or polyp in uterus and other blood tests to rule out thyroid abnormality.
D&C is therapeutic as well as diagnositic in controlling heavy bleed.

Hope this answer is helpful. Thank you.
